Part 3: Sit down with Charlotte Burton

Pat: Good Evening and Welcome to Ladies of Twitter: Secrets Exposed. The purpose of this special is to reunite with former Ladies of Twitter and break down the good and the bad about living our lives through the #LoT cameras. No question was off limits and the ladies had a lot to say about their experience on the show and behind the scenes. Tonight, I sit down with Charlotte Burton who made her impact known on the show in Season 11 and 12!

Pat: Before we begin tonights show there is a special statement I would like to make. There was a conversation on twitter between myself and new cast member of Ladies of Twitter Anal Hadid aka Former Lady of Twitter Jac Carter. Jac has always had an issue with what is real and what is not. She over the year or so that I have known her has time and time again taken things too far. Last night, she continues this horrible behavior. It's a shame that Ladies of Twitter continues to have her participate in the show even though she has made very nasty and derogatory comments about people and it cannot be allowed. I applaud all the people who came out to call her out and continue to call her out on her disgusting and despicable behavior. More to come on Jac in a future episode so stay tuned!

Charlotte

Pat: Hey Charlotte! Thank you so much for sitting with me. I know that you weren’t a cast member for that long but I think your perspective is very interesting and much needed! Let’s start light.. how did you hear about the show?

Charlotte: Thank you for having me! Let’s see, I first heard of the Lame Lime spinoff because it popped up on my suggested follows page. That led me to the LoT page. I was fascinated by the concept so I took a deeper look into some of the seasons to see what it was about.

Pat: Now when you were casted was that the first time you tried out or did you try prior to that?

Charlotte: I tried out twice for Seasons 9 and 10 I believe.. So we *Points at Pat* could have been bickering with each other from Day 1 if they knew what was good for them!

Pat: *laughs* Missed opportunity although you would have had my back against Leah! But I’m curious. The face you were given when you were casted was Dawn from RHOC.. was that your choice?

Charlotte: It wasn’t my first choice but I thought she was good enough…I felt I had to go for a white face because I’d applied twice unsuccessfully with all Black faces.

Pat: You know, behind the scenes before you were casted a certain producer was going on and on about how he wanted Dawns face on the show.. Low an behold here you are!

Charlotte: That makes sense, production told me that I should create an account as Dawn. I didn’t really have a say but I felt that was normal.

Pat: Its not normal. Especially on other shows.. But let me ask about this.. So I publicly stated before that people who are white shouldn’t play people of color. I just feel like they heighten stereotypes and it just comes off really gross.. do you feel the same?

Charlotte: I do. I think it’s a bit awkward to bring up so I usually just leave it alone but you’re right, stereotypes run rampant a lot. I think some role players secretly wish they were Black women.

Pat: Did you feel that on #LoT

Charlotte: Looking at some of the episodes, I felt that for sure before I joined but those people were fired by then. If you’re wondering specifically about Joshuaa, he was just boring. A waste of a longtime Black talent. Why spend time trying to stereotype when you can just be bland?

Pat: Honestly, it was a general question *smiles* I was genuinely interested in what you would say being a true person of color. I don’t think Joshuaa heightened the black stereotypes while playing porsha. There were a few questionable things but I look at that as just him being uneducated, not racist. Let me ask about your time on the show. Do you have any fun moments that stands out?

Charlotte: I loved all my scenes with Tyler. I liked Tyler’s energy and willingness to engage. That was a fun feud that wasn’t serious!

Pat: I do love Tyler. Tyler always was a bit of a voice of reason. I hope that is continuing in the production chat… Let me ask.. when was the turning point for you? Was there one thing that made you want to walk away before you actually did?

Charlotte: I felt production, and specifically Joshuaa, was always looking out for himself and taking things how he wanted them to go in favor of his character. I think that’s not only egotistical but blatantly disrespectful to the other person that you can just make something up as you please.. and apparently it still continues.

Pat: Joshuaa’s name has come up a lot in this special. What do you think about him? What would you change about him or the experience with him as the producer?

Charlotte: I can’t change a person, they have to deal with their wretched behavior on judgement day. I will say that Joshua should just be talent because he can’t do that and be production, and he definitely isn’t a good producer. I take that back. He’s not even talented so he should simply focus on living a life of vaping and thirsting for a place close to a camera.

Pat: You, myself and Aspen left ahead of Season 13. I mean.. I spoke about this in my tell all but remember filming the first episode for 13?

Charlotte: Yes, I do. It felt awful

Pat: Joshuaa was trying to push his new character so far down our throats we couldn’t do anything. It would of worked with the cast of four.. me you Aspen and Luci *laughs*

Charlotte: I absolutely agree, we didn’t need him at all. The character wasn’t developed and she didn’t add anything but age to the group.

Pat: What would it take you to return to LoT?

Charlotte: Nothing, I simply wouldn’t. I think the show had a great thing going but you have to know when it’s time to end it.

Pat: Before my one final question, is there anything else you want to get off your chest?

Charlotte: Yes! I’m living a happily ever after with my 4 girls, without Roman, and with my new “friend” William!

Pat: Oh my god! Yes! I know fans will love that update! LoT is filming their 13th season. Do you have any advice for the new cast members or any future ones that try to join the show?

Charlotte: Know your worth, add tax, and leave if it’s not accepted.

Pat: Charlotte thank you so so much!

Charlotte: Thank you Pat! Say hello to Joey for me.

Pat: I will! *Hugs Charlotte as Interview ends*

Pat: Thank you so much to Charlotte for sitting with me! See you next time for Part 4!
